Kwita Izina Gorilla Naming Festival gets underway!
The seventh Kwita Izina gorilla naming is now underway in Kigali, Rwanda, with a specially-themed conservation conference kicking off this year’s event. Over the next few days, the Gorilla Organization will join government officials, NGO workers, conservationists and regional wildlife authorities in celebrating and naming the 22 mountain gorillas born over the past 12 months.

Twin Gorillas Born in Hirwa Family in PNV
The Volcanoes National Park is announcing the birth of twins in one group of mountain gorillas, Hirwa. The good news was announced by RDB gorilla trackers of the Hirwa group on Thursday 3rd 2011 after observing the twins, who were born to the mother called Kabatwa. The twins are both males and looked very healthy
