On this 5 Days Rwanda Safari you shall enjoy wonderful adventures in Volcanoes National Park and relaxation at the Lake Kivu. You will do the famous gorilla trekking adventure and get up-close with the mountain gorillas in the jungles of the Virunga Mountains.
To this memorable gorilla encounter, you will add the golden monkey tracking experience and see these incredibly attractive monkeys which are largely overshadowed by the popular gorillas. The golden monkeys live in the lower zones of the mountains and are found without a lot of trekking. After the amazing adventures in the mountains there is no better place to retreat for relaxation than Lake Kivu one of the most beautiful lakes in Central Africa.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival, city tour & transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon arrival, you will be picked up from Kigali international airport in Rwanda by our ever on time driver. Go on a brief Kigali City Tour – Visit the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Site, Caplaki and a Local Makerket. You can do some shopping if it’s needed. Then afterwards drive to Volcanoes and check-in, Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Solutions Lodge (Budget) / Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (Midrange) / Five Volcanoes Lodge or Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury)
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes
After your breakfast, you will continue to Volcanoes National Park headquarters in Kinigi. After your breakfast, you will continue to the park headquarters for a briefing. Thereafter get into the tropical rain forest and search for the mountain gorillas starting from where they were the previous day until you find them. You may find them doing their daily chores of feeding their young ones, climbing trees and others just relaxing. Take your best photographs having switched off your flash. This whole exercise takes a maximum of 1 hour. You will then return to the park offices for your gorilla tracking certificate.
After the trek, travel back to the lodge. Have lunch. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Solutions Lodge (Budget) / Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (Midrange) / Five Volcanoes Lodge or Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury)
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking and Transfer to Lake Kivu
Our guide will drive you to the park headquarter. Get briefed about golden monkey in the Volcanoes National Park. Led by the ranger guide, go on a trek into the jungle to search for these primates. This activity lasts for half day and its worthy to watch these primates. Lunch will be at the lodge. In the afternoon, you may take a relaxed simple drive from Volcanoes National Park to Lake Kivu that is at the border of Rwanda and Congo, its offers the great to relax as you enjoy the beach view. You will be driven to your lodge for dinner and overnight at hotel.
Overnight at Paradise Malahide Lodge (Midrange) / Kivu Serena Lodge (Luxury)
Day4: Leisure at Lake Kivu
Wake up at leisure to give your body a break. Enjoy your breakfast and opt to spend the day at the hotel or take on some activities like boat trip on Lake Kivu. You can also have a Coffee to Cup Experience. Overnight at Paradise Malahide Lodge (Midrange) / Kivu Serena Lodge (Luxury)
Day 5: Transfer to Kigali
Wake up very early in the morning, enjoy breakfast and proceed to Kigali arrive at lunch hours’ time and enjoy it. In the afternoon you will go for a city tour to visit the local markets and do shopping in the local craft centre. Later be dropped at the airport or hotel of your choice to enjoy a flight back home.
